Modular ReSET

Modular ReSET was a collaboritive project created by 8 students (including myself) in the ACE Mentor Program over a 16 week period in the fall of 2012 to the spring of 2013.

The goal of this project was to develop a factory made module that could be configured to create a better learning environment than the classic mobile classroom trailer.

This was accomplished by using modules throughout the design finishes such as the exterior panels and the walls within. This allows the user to customize the space to fit the needs of the inhabitants. The modules also are set on helical piers which give the units structural stability for both wind loads coming from the side and from underneath in the case of a tornado.

Due to the functionality of these modules they could be used for officespaces, school complexes, or even to aid in disaster-relief efforts.

This project took first place at the 7th Annual Construction Industry Roundtable competition, beating out 40+ competitors from across the United States of America.
